Yes, congratulations all round. What a fantastic achievement. This must be the greatest day in the history of UK orienteering.

And the push for publicity, continuance of funding, development, sponsorship etc. must go into overdrive from here.

Kitch, I couldn't find anything on BBC online following your email. I wonder if they really are interested or do they need further nudging?

Has anybody in the know contacted any news agency, so we can see the details in Monday's papers, even though it's probably a bit late now for tomorrow? I had a look at Telegraph online, and it seems hopeless with regard to giving them a story directly, even though they're usually best for non-mainstream sport. It appears you can email, but with no guarantee that it will actually be read immediately. Pity there's no equivalent phone number where you know you'll be heard.

As there's been The Open and Lewis Hamilton winning again today, one extra day probably won't make any difference for us, so maybe BOF can get things going tomorrow (if they haven't already started!)

Couldn't find anything on the bbc website re submitting news stories, apart from adding a story at 606, only reams of info about becoming an "official supplier".

Perhaps we should all send loads of e-mails to yourpics@bbc.co.uk (and anything else remotely similar?) !!!

AAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! Just arrived home from the Czech Republic, tired but happy! Such a great way to end the week - I have a sore throat from screaming so much. Unfortunately we had to leave to make it to the airport straight after Jamie crossed the line so missed most of the jumping up and down celebrating. Also still have no idea what happenned to Thierry. I absolutely refuse to believe he jacked it in but he wasn't limping so not sure what it was. Has anyone managed to find anything out?

He got bit by something and had an allergic reaction....but he was OK.

I can report that Thierry Gueorgiou FRA suffered an allergic reaction after being bitten by an insect, that is why he had to stop. He should be OK again in a relatively short time.

Rocky and I spent the day manning one of the controls on today's Rat Race but with a combination of mobile phones and laptop we were able to follow the excitement.

One of the highlights of the day was being able to tell Bruce Duncan that his brother was a world champion. I think he was pleased.

it was the most amazing feeling to be told that JD was a World Champion half way round my own race, i was hurting so much, but that spurred me on to nail the race, never had to concentrate so hard on such an easy course.
Clive Parry was there at the same time with his team, he did a 180deg error as he couldn't focus on the course.

I presume Rocky and Robin were the guys in Holyrood park, since that's when I heard about the win - I should point out that Bruce started off heading towards CP2 on the course up there, so he was obviously just a little distracted! Despite not having a brother in the team or even really knowing any of the guys it even gave me a lift too - top result!

I was obviously so focussed at that point I didn't even notice who it was I was collecting the maps from (and sure I remembered talking about the WOC result whilst up there).
