The Joe Lee system? Previously used at the KIMM (before they switched to SI), and still used by QO, I believe. Never used it myself...

The 'Joe Lee' system does exist but the OMM aren't using it any more (they're using SI) as it was pretty flaky and prone to just failing very randomly. I've used it and wasn't terribly impressed.
SI and Emit are the only 2 ratified by the IOF from an orienteering perspective.

I heard a rumor that there was another system in the murky land of Scandinavia, is this true?

The Chinese have their own punching system.

Looks a bit like SI, but probbaly a fraction of the price.

There's one used quite widely for rogaines, score events and mountain marathons in NZ and Aus - Navlight http://www.rogaine.org.nz/main/Resource ... 5May06.pdf
When I last used it (nearly 3 years ago) It was defintly better than SI for this type of thing but not really sutiable for normal orienteering. Or see old AP thread http://www.attackpoint.org/discussionth ... sage_75826
