junior squad takeover?

Child has come back from JIRCS where apparently there were rumours that BOF want to control regional junior squads and tell squad leaders how to run them. Any one else heard about this?

Don't know what rumour was heard but Squad managers did discuss Lakeside 2008. We also discussed a need to write something down in terms of what we as managers and coaches wanted to achieve as we see our efforts as far more than finding Start Squad members and potential GB Squad members. In fact BO has never told us how to run our regional Squads, but with all the funding changes and the new talent pathway there is a need for us to discuss future direction. Squads and their supporters work very hard with limited resources to give the juniors a good orienteering experience and develop their skills and provide opportunities to widen their orienteering horizons, as well as providing an enjoyable social occasion. I am sure if you would like to help your regional squad we are always looking for volunteers and extra help would be much appreciated.
