Re: ORingen Accommodation
There is one place going spare in a SLOW chalet of 10 which has been booked for the O-Ringen, which we seem unable to fill at the moment. The main entry deadline is this Sunday 1st June (late entries allowed but can't guarantee class/start block) so ideally a quick decision needed.
If anyone is interested in taking this place then please PM me asap.

Re: ORingen Accommodation
Entries closing date has been extended by the O-Ringen organisers to the 10th June for those interested/still undecided

I'm gobsmacked. They are already unable to provide accommodation to those entering, with Swedish clubs apparently being told to find their own (and finding that pretty much their only option will be to wild camp) and have failed to honour their advertising to those who booked over a year ago. Why they think it right to extend entries date is a bit beyond me.

They're looking to set a record participation.

Only another 5,000 entries to go then.

Re: ORingen Accommodation
I've still not had a response from them cancelling our beds as we've decided against going. Hope they'rw not going to charge me. Some poor Swedish clubs have to find somewhere for up to 70 people

Re: ORingen Accommodation
a bit cynical about the reasoning given then, Eddie?
Oringen site wrote:The reason is to give those who haven't yet found or received confirmation of their accommodations an opportunity to enter for the June 1 deadline price, states Mark Baljeu, Marketing Director for O-Ringen 2008.

Out of the blue I have received an invoice for a hut for 2, 19th - 26th July 2008.
Anyone want it before I cancel it? Cost 3,500 SEK
We never recieved any confirmation of our request and decided Portugal might be warmer.

Re: ORingen Accommodation
Good to know they're coming out at last.
We're still on the list of those with "confirmed" accommodation but have not received anything yet.

Re: ORingen Accommodation
Hey, KP, I'm glad there's someone else out there confirmed & still waiting...
I've got a booking in for 25 ish beds, & I've bought us all bus tickets in anticipation of being on the bus route, but have yet to hear anything. I've got alot of twitchy clubmates & I'm wondering when I should start to worry

Re: ORingen Accommodation
I had an e-mail from a very nice man in Sweden with a cabin this week only - which is encouraging but no details yet. I was thinking that 3500 SEK for 2 sounded rather more than had previously been advertised
