Not very far away now, so who all is taking part this weekend?

Is anyone else planning on watching live? From what I understand it'll cost you 60sek (~£5) to watch the whole broadcast, it'll be interesting to see how many folk pay and if you'll get better reliability for that.

Since a couple of years Tiomila can be watched live at the Internet with radio and televisionbroadcast. This year Tiomila will be broadcast live on internet TV from 10:00 on Saturday till around 11:00 on Sunday, but people have to pay for a 10-digit code which gives them acces to the broadcast. This is the first time people have to pay, but the price to watch the the entire broadcast is really not that high, 60 crowns (about 6 euro), for a weekend spending in front of the computer screen following one of the biggest orienteering relays in the world. What can you expect for 60 crowns? Tiomila’s goal with Internet television is to show the main broadcast, one other camera showing runners further back in the race, and the GPS tracking, throughout the competitions. The main broadcast is the production which is shown on the big screen at the competition centre. And the GPS tracking will show the runners’ position on the competition map during those legs where the GPS equipment is used. The internet TV user can switch between these three broadcasts throughout the competition. The sound for each of the three broadcasts is the competition speaker.

I'll be interested to see if people tune in for this too, especially as I think they're planning to do a similar thing with this year's WOC. Not sure it's worth it for Tio - there's going to be an awful lot of shots of empty dark forest in the early stages, the only genuinely exciting bits are the mass start and the finish of leg 10, and I'll be asleep for most of it anyway!

I'm going for the first time as part of the Jesus OK team (team 170), and am really looking forward to the experience Looks like there should be plenty of Brits out there.

Arrived in Sweden at midnight with CK Coombs and have spent today sitting in the sunshine (a wonderful 18) degrees working on my literature review and getting excited about club training tonight. Unfortunately looks like the weather's not going to hold for the weekend, but today has been absolutely splendid.

Oh, I want to run now...damn these silly afternoon starts! The weather is still gorgeous out here, skies not quite as clear and hot as they have been for the last three days, but it's heating up now. Should be soooo good!

It's TioTime! Corporal McCarthy and myself cruised over on Ryans airways last night and are being looked after by our respective clubs in comfy airport hotels (Tio is about 10km from stockholms main airport). Probably going to head down to watch the girls race later this afternoon then back to hotel to try and get some sleep before the main event.

Looks like i might be switching to the short 8th leg though, as my gut isn't behaving and i don't think i can get enough calories in to see me round 17km 5.7k should be easier, running at 6:30 (feels like 5:30) rather than 8 (7) less so...
