Not particularly on this occasion (you should see what I post on other forums where I am deliberately provocative ) Not necessarily a totally serious suggestion - though I thought the discussion might at least be useful.

Anyway, in answer to a couple of the points: the mat doesn't need to cover the approach points, just be right next to the control itself - you have to stand on the (small) mat to "punch". I understand about the card not storing anything, so all controls having to be radio - not a totally impossible situation, as advances in technology could make the combined detector and unit as small as a current e-punching unit. Possibly only a useful solution for sprint racing which has requirements which make more traditional systems less ideal.

I don't get it. Why were they dsq'd for holding the si card in for longer?

Team 1's runner was DQ'd because his SI card hadn't registered, even though he had held the card in for 0.6 seconds. He removed the card because he heard the beep of Team 2's card (which registered in 0.3 seconds).

I first saw the video on this attackpoint thread which has been referenced on other nope epunching threads. Worth a read...
