I would just like to put on record my sincere appreciation to every single volunteer who stood out or worked in what were always cold and unpleasant conditions which frequently deteriorated in to downright attrocious weather to put on the weekend's events. Everyone i spoke to was cheerful and You all deserve a medal in my opinion.

There will be moans, There were glitches and i'm sure we'll here about them sooner or later - but just for a moment i think it's worth reflecting on the fact that with out such a high level of organisation and dedication at least two of the days would have crumbled under the conditions.

Totally agree Mrs H. A great weekend's orienteering organised very cheerfully under some really tough conditions. A superb voluntary effort. Thank you everybody.

Mind you, its nice to be back under the sunny blue skies of Edinburgh .

The sprint race required more thought than the rest of the weekend put together. Brilliant!

Leith Hill was absolutely delightful forest. There was an argument which said we shouldn't use the very nice bit for a full distance (well 49 minute...) race, rather sticking to the exceptionally nice bit. I'm so glad they didn't - that would have been a waste.

Ashdown was a really pleasant place to run. Thanks to Dave Harrison for finding the compass I dropped while removing my cag (yes, I got too hot!).

and Eridge produced the best relay race I've had in years. Well done to Lard and Roger for keeping ahead of me over the last section. 33 seconds covering 2nd - 5th ... I can't wait to try again at Culbin!

But what an exceptional run from Mr Hallett that was (depriving so many of us of that championship time) beating the rest of a pretty strong class by 5 minutes

Great weekend. Partiuclarly enjoyed the sprint races at guildford despite making a huge error. Shame about the cold weather but the organisation coped very well. Roll on 2010
