Re: Earthquake!
New fissures as gullies? Well perhaps not!
It was pretty scary here, especially when woken from a deep sleep at almost 1am - very load noise like a plane or train on the roof and the whole place shaking. We're about 50 miles away so what it must have been like in HALO land.........

Re: Earthquake!
When there was an earthquake that affected the west mids 20 odd years back there was a bolder that moved a considerable distaice down a slop at Western Heath. The assumption was that it had happened during the earthquake as we spoted it the week after and it was clearly a fresh movment.

Re: Earthquake!
Back in the 70's I was descending one of the Mamores to Kinlochleven and came across several new deep fissures up to about 6 feet wide - quite big enough to kill. I was told that there had been an earthquake the previous winter. I've never gone back to that slope but it would be interesting to see how it looks now - more like Ysgirrid Fawr I expect.
