not that i care, obv., but were there any regional events between new year and last sunday? The only one in the Compass Sport fixture list is a MV event which turned into a colour-coded...

I'm assuming that the proposed changes (= improvements, mostly) to the ranking list aren't being implemented immediately, and it is carrying on as before, i.e. only counting age-class events. In which case i definitely don't care, as i'm back to null points and it'll be october at least before i've had 6 events in range...

If you type 'Ranking' into the BO(F) search, the top result points you to a BOF rankings page - which is still 'having technical problems since May 2005'. Further down the search results, 'Ranking list' takes you to the appropriate (latest) list, the last event mentioned is the SN at Ash ranges on 30 Dec 2007.
The only regional I've done this year was the BKO last Sunday, so wouldn't expect that to have been processed yet.

The 'Rankings page' further down on the search results has the message about SINS 2005 having caused some problems which will be corrected as soon as possible.

Like my house, me thinks some repointing is necessary.

It seems you're right. I had the MV event vaguely in mind, but should probably have made mroe of an effort to check the facts (which, in my defence, has become trickier now the BOF results page has turned into a bit of a pick&mix).

On the plus side, it's nice to think that we went a whole month without any age-class competitions and yet the sport didn't implode.

pages whose home page URL is http://ccgi.orienteering.plus.com/rankings
I suggest you bookmark that URL and forget about any 'rankings' on the BO site

Is this the same as Mike's web site, or a copy, or something else?

I agree there are two small old obsolete news items also there, but the ranking seems to be there, or am I looking at the wrong thing?

I think it has the same data. Whether it's a copy or whether they share a common database, I can't tell. However, I can't find my own scores, apart from the six counting, on the BOF site without following the link to Mike's.

Ian - the current target is to start it at the beginning of 2009. A lot of work needs to be done first!
