The car thing is a good call. The bit I love is the "Can you think of a better race location?" er well I'm wracking my brains... err YES... Forvie, Glen Affric, the hills of Fife, the Ochils, Creag Mhic, Ben Nevis, Jura, Graythwaite, Culbin, Ecclesall Woods, Mugdock country park..

Well, you're in luck as you will be able to go to a fair few of those places next year too! Shame Culbin is out for my christmas day training though
Can't say I'd be too keen on Dogmuck though

Multi- Level map - why go to Istanbul - why not map the Barbican?
brooner wrote:Its all rather heavy reading around here at the moment, from getting run over to geeky mapping formats, and in the absence of entertainment I was expecting from disparaging remarks about orienteering in the East Midlands, what are you looking forward to over the coming months of orienteering?
Personally I look forward to never orienteering in the East Midlands ever again.
Although more seriously, I'm heading out to the Istanbul 5 days a week today, which looks like it should provide some fantastic orienteering, particularly the night super sprint on a 1:1500 (multi level) map in the Grand Bazaar. I'm hoping my acclimatisation of arriving close to Midnight the day before will set me up nicely for the 10pm start of this race!About the Grand Bazaar Stage wrote:This place did change winners of the multiday event many times!
I'm less looking forward to the fact that I'm arriving the night that Liverpool are playing Besiktas...

Becks - you promised us details of the Edinburgh weekend on the EUOC website by the end of November and I can't see them - are they coming?
BTW BOC weekend - Birmingham to Aberdeen £0.00 FlyBe. shame about the airport tax but lots of well timed flights. car hire £58. just need somewhere to stay now.

Well mainly what time are the City Race starts. It makes a difference if you are thinking of coming and wondering whether to get there Friday night or Saturday morning. It's still hyperthetical mind!

Brooner re Edinburgh weekend
Oentries doesn't seem to make available the whole weekend package that Becky has advertised.
Will that change? Also some, like me, will require Ceilidh tickets for non-orienteers.
There are a lot of people I know intending to come for the weekend. Most have booked accommodation already, but some will want more details to make sure they have made the best arrangements.

Can't help you with the January event details but...
...if you can't make it up in January, there will be another opportunity to take on the mean streets of Edinburgh in the Autumn...however it's so good, go to both!

Wattock, Will the Edinburgh Autumn Cities Race be part of a weekend package?
That's what makes the January weekend so attractive for many of us travelling some distance. (Not to mention it coinciding with my birthday!

Hey everyone! Sorry I missed the latest posts here! More details are now up on the euoc website http://www.euoclegends.co.uk.
The street race will run in the afternoon giving people the chance to travel up in the morning.
The package deal is actually available (in a slightly convoluted way!) The sosol entries have two prices available with the cheaper one vaild if you have a street race entry and ceilidh ticket.
Ceilidh tickets will also be available on the door. If you know you are brining along x number of extra people to the ceilidh drop us a quick email mentioning that though (need to make sure we have enough drink!)
Hope that answers a few questions. If you have any more I'll do my best to answer them!
Cheers
