The Golden Compass

So why is the book/film called the Golden Compass in America then? Why can't they call it The Northern Lights like everyone else? There isn't even a compass in it... (it's an alethiometer - nerd alert)

Ok, just a thought.... have prepared an A5 poster on the theme.... see what you think. Comments welcome.

Aim:...... to get the attention of the audience with the wording.... golden compass... and then for the word orienteering to be recognised. Just a simple idea with a simple message. Get it up in as many places as possible now while everyone is talking about the film.

The poster is a good quality (although I have a 2.5MB one if needed!) pdf file which will print onto A4. Simply cut it down to A5. Or if you wish put some text just below the image advertising yourself, by going through the printer a second time using WORD or similar.

Its good Roger - but i think in view of the book it should be a girl - preferably with blonde curly hair - perhaps Sarah R most closely fills the bill and the writing needs to be more spikey and dark - you know - "Gothic". I think futura would be good.

Judging from the number of downloads of the file we have a real opportunity here! Obviously we can't expect each person to print off a hundred copies and then find a hundred different places to put it up..... well it would be good!! However, six or ten copies would be OK.

We just keep the idea simple..... Golden Compass... Orienteering.... website.

Even if we only had a 1-2% return on the advertising it is still worth doing. If you would like a 1.5MB file to print from then just PM me. Advertising 'orienteering' locally, in whatever manner, lifts the profile of the sport in YOUR area and will help your recruitment.
