Entries for the British Schools Championships need to be submitted within the next few days. Because of the problems with the postal service, schools have been worrying whether their entries have arrived and so a list of schools from which entries have been received has been published on the BSOA website. This will be updated later next week.
However, there has been a further problem because some schools have been submitting entries using incorrectly sized envelopes or an incorrect amount of postage for the envelope used. The Post Office is being fairly ruthless in the way it applies their newish regulations on preferred envelope size and is retaining these envelopes for collection. This has resulted in the Entries Secretary having to personally collect a considerable amount of post from her main post office and having to pay the £1 surcharge plus the £1.16 excess postage. Not only is she currently out of pocket but it also means a delay before the entries are received.
(There has been a similar problem with the Southern Night Championships entries which resulted at one time with more entries being retained by the Post Office than had been delivered to the entries secretary)
If you have yet to submit your school's entry, please ensure that all postal entries are covered by the correct amount of postage for the size of the envelope being used. Any postage/costs that have to be paid by the organising club will be recovered from the person/school submitting the entry.

Re: British Schools Championships Entries
I do hope the entry-on-line part of the BOF website starts to solve all these problems.... we really must work harder to get the system working and bug free. Nothing like optimism to lift the spirits!!!
