What orienteering are you looking forward to?

Its all rather heavy reading around here at the moment, from getting run over to geeky mapping formats, and in the absence of entertainment I was expecting from disparaging remarks about orienteering in the East Midlands, what are you looking forward to over the coming months of orienteering?

Personally I look forward to never orienteering in the East Midlands ever again.

Although more seriously, I'm heading out to the Istanbul 5 days a week today, which looks like it should provide some fantastic orienteering, particularly the night super sprint on a 1:1500 (multi level) map in the Grand Bazaar. I'm hoping my acclimatisation of arriving close to Midnight the day before will set me up nicely for the 10pm start of this race!

This place did change winners of the multiday event many times!

I'm less looking forward to the fact that I'm arriving the night that Liverpool are playing Besiktas...

There was wonderful fast running without a bramble to be seen in the East Midlands only 2 weeks ago at Carsington Pastures.

And to get back to the main topic: The OMM

Nothing. I'm giving up. The mental scars of GG being able to run the CSC Brown course 2.5 times and still beat me will take even longer to heal than the bramble scars . Well, maybe I'll be out this Sunday......

I can guarantee that there will be no brambles at all at the SHI in south Wales this weekend, only V runnable TD5+ on courses planned by Mark and Alice.

What more could you want. and if the mist comes down .....

Seriously, all welcome to come and run the SHI courses on pre printed maps etc. No pre entry just turn up and enjoy.

Also just been checking out flights to Tampere for Jukola and they're cheap at the moment (~£50 return), anyone know if there is anything happening during the week before the relays?

And for those of you that think Lincoln is in the wilds of East Anglia just remember that we are less than 45 minutes from Brambl.. whoops I mean Blidworth, and less than 15 minutes off the A1 at Newark. It's amazing how being east of the A1 equates to a different time zone for some people
