Entries to the Elite race will continue to be taken at the 6 Day event centre until it closes (8.30pm) on Monday 6th August. Entries for the Long and Medium classes are only available on the day.'
Entries close on 5th August(Sunday)but elites can enter until 8:30 pm Monday [/b]andentries for long & medium are only available on the day.
So is there a short course that you must enter by Sunday?

Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

From the event details.
"Four courses are available. Details are as follows:

Long 2.5 - 3 km - similar to the elite class course
Medium 1 - 2 km - suitable for orienteers of all ages

Pre-entry needed for elite only.

Oh please Perhaps just the run in, but I suppose I'll have to go to the athletic track for that

Well, for all you smarty pants out there, there is actually a short race, I've just called it something else (Beginners). It is extremely short (and not very technical). The "long" and "medium" came from using the titles employed for the two courses at the last 6 Days (where there wasn't a short course).
Everyone is more than welcome to try the short course but you'll have to be quick as the limited issue map is in demand. You can always run it without a map though.... Other handicaps can also be arranged
Oh yes, and it's free of charge!

I suspect that someone at BOF has 'corrected' Wattok's grammar, and by moving the position of 'only' has utterly changed the meaning. Elite needs to be pre-entered; long and medium don't.

Just so things are made clear, for the correct information, read page 76 (if I remember right) in the 6 Days event programme or check http://www.oentries.com
Entry for all courses is currently available online.
Entries for the elite course close online on the 5th and at event centre registration on the evening of Monday 6th i.e. there is no entry on the day for the elite course (This is to allow a start list to be prepared and distributed).
Entries for all other courses (Long, Medium and Beginners) will be accepted as per the above mentioned means but are also available "on the day". No start lists will be prepared for these courses.
