Well done to Darren and Emma for their first top 50 finish in the D class.
Glad I went to Twin Peaks at High Dam, it looked a very undulating course!
What happened to Nick Barrable - miss punching?

Scarpara: Not mispunched - just jacked after the 1st control on Day 2. After spending much time standing around on Day 1 waiting for my partner to re-apply compeeds coz he bought those Innov8s which dig into your heels (Mudroc 290s? - he lasted about 2 hours before drawing blood) and waiting for his cramping legs to relax so he could move. By day 2 he was a bit of a mess, especially as his quads were like bricks, so we decided a pleasant flattish 4 hour stroll back to the finish would be best. Nevertheless, he was walking around Glasgow airport like a zombie/Day of the Dead person, unable to bend his legs which was mildly comical. But he had a great weekend.
Martin Brice SAX/SO and partner were 3rd on Novice 6 secs off second and 90 off first - so he said.
Catherine Thomas CLYDE and Louise Longhurst FVO were 31st on D - both MM first timers.
Some great weather - rain stayed off till mid Sunday pm.

We did the D class which the planner had indicated to be 1000 metres of climb. Having got to midcamp we subsequently analysed our route in detail and found we'd covered 1420 metres. When we compared it with the Planner's route hers was 1400 metres.
Did anyone else doing the D find the climb a little on the high side?
Mudrocs good for LAMM - got a pair (270's) a few weeks ago and perfect for the traversing involved. They were well worn in though.

They ended up 4th. They 90 secs off 2nd as winners stormed round nearly two hrs quicker.

If they're 270s, then they'll be Mudclaws, which don't eat your heels IME - the last seems to be different to the Mudrocs.

Doesn't the footwear debate take us back to previous threads? It isn't the type of shoe that causes blisters, its wearing shoes that are too wide, narrow, short, long etc for your particular feet. INOV8s, and mudclaws in particular, seem to attract more than their fair share of criticism for blisters, but I suspect that is more to do with them being a trendy shoe and people cramming their feet into them when they aren't ideal for their foot shape. It could also be too much too soon in new shoes, and they might get better after they've been "broken in" I suppose? But please let's avoid the "those shoes always give everyone blisters" debate, please

I used Innov8 Mudclaw 270's which I bought about a month ago and had used on a few long races in the meantime. They were really good over the weekend - got a few very small blisters late on, but nothing compared to the problems I used to have - and I've tried quite a lot of different O shoes over the last few years. Certainly ideal for an event like this.
The LAMM was great - glorious sunshine, wonderful scenery and some good courses. It was my first ever mountain marathon - I wonder if it's always like this...

I suspect you are meaning the winners of A, I took a jibe at Murray at the start line for it. But his reasoning was sound, it was his first mountain marathon, what else was there for him to do?
I am sure he would have done well at the elite but elite on a mountain marathon is something you don't go straight into especially if you want to compete at selection races a month later.
Although can't say I did very well, hoping for 1st mix pair and top 5 on A, but partner broke me 3.5 hours in. hmmm may stick to B at OMM.
