Sail banners - The good, the bad and the ugly

SWOC are thinking of catching up with the rest of the O world and investing in a sail banner.

any views on the good ones and the ones to be avoided would be appreciated.

price guide?
how easy to erect and take down?
how good in strong winds?
how heavy and transportable?

Banners For All was recommended to me, and I've just ordered two sail banners from them. They've done banners for several O-clubs. Ralph is a nice guy to deal with, and does the design work for you if you give him logos and general ideas of what you want.

For a 4m banner and 5m pole (which is what you need) they're about £80 each. In addition there's postage, and optional extras like stands and stakes.

They're easy to put up, weigh very little, and as long as you firmly extend the telescopic carbon pole and secure them well, they survive strong winds.

They're digitally printed so any design is probably possible. Just be careful with logos that when you blow them up large, the resolution is still good.

Seems to be reasonable successful and has been well used since we bought it.

We had ours designed by a club junior who has a gift for design and it is fairly complex and it was printed really well. Don't know if it was banners for all or not though

Well I designed LOG's sail banners and sent them to Ralph at Banners for All. We then had some e-mails back and forth about colours and some technical points, resulting in some small changes, all for no charge before we decided on the final design. I believe that we ordered 1 initially and got a second one half price ( I hope that doesn't drop Ralph in it ) They look great by the way, the only thing we can't comment on is durability as they are only a few weeks old.
