Global warming ?
Have done a spot of mapping today I notice the nettle are still up and pack a bit of a nip. Seems a bit late even or EA. Also saw a couple of squirrels getting a bit friendly. Well they were making a lot of chattering which I normally only hear in Spring - so its that or it was just a domestic or a bit of auditioning for a part in a Christmas soap.

Yes nettles are a good indicator of the temperature out there and we've all noticed them in profusion for the time of year. We had a C4 in November '05 and we watched the nettles die off just in time. But this year was a totally different story, in fact the buggers are still growing!
I reckon I've noticed 3 "die offs" followed by new growth, and the new ones are the worst for stinging! Hopefully the recent frosts will have an effect at last?
