Winterfold - The long leg route choice

This is why we orienteer isn't it, for legs like this? A choice of good routes, and some complex decision making in selecting the route that best suits personal strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps there was relatively little difference in the time taken for each route and it was actually more important to get on with it than worry too much about the niceties of the various options. Execution of the route was not difficult: it was unlikely to induce navigational errors, unlike a similar length leg on highly technical terrain. But for the south of England it was good stuff. Well done Matthias for this leg and actually for the course (1) in general - I enjoyed it a lot.

I dont feel qualified to comment on the best route for this leg, but just to stir up the price for event debate a little I really thought this event was good value for money - even with the regional event surcharge. Most of the areas in the south east used for colour coded/local events cant produce such challenging long legs, even with such good organisation and planning. Well done SLOW.
