KIMM/OMM

I haven't done it myself, but it certainly sounds tough. It is clearly not an MM though.
Note that many of the european 2 man 2 day races are run in a similar
manner. The Czech and Slovenian ones don't/didn't have rucksacks for instance. Also the Jetiloop in Denmark (or was it Holland) was run in a similar manner. I think also some of the French races, although the main
French ones are more along the lines of the British events.
Thinking about the state of most people's kit at start of day 2 (food mostly
eaten, sleeping bag wet, waterproofs wetter inside than outside, ...),
a 3 day MM carrying all your gear would be horrendous. Single skin condensation-full mini tents would be less preferable, ...
The phoenix Phrontrunner tent would come unto its own in such conditions!

Ever since finding out about the GL3DMT I've thought it was a great idea for exactly that reason. Not being able to just cram your wet camping stuff into your pack on day 2 would mean some serious rethinking of gear. I was most disappointed to find that you only need to carry your day kit with you.
