Interesting to note a famous French Military person taking part in his first WMOC...... (Maybe he's not really a full time orienteer afterall!!)

In the beginning of September, I signed for a very good contract with the police-force.

I will represent the “Gendarmerie française” during the major military competitions (World and French championships). The deal is really interesting since I got a monthly salary and still can go on with my studies during that period (one year contract, repeatable 5 times). I have no military obligation like staying at the garrison house or military instruction.

My first military competition will be the World Championships held in Brazil in the beginning of November.

Thus it looks like I will still go on being a professional orienteer for the next five years. Definitively a good news…

What does WMOC stand for not World Masters I presume as most of these guys were at WOC and are not crinklies yet.
