Well as far as know, winners of:
elite were Ifor/Al
A were Neil and Craney
B were GG and Harold
C was Dougie and John (Matt Franklin sprained his ankle but him and Joe completed) also Littler Tullie and parent pulled up to 4th and won P/C
Not sure bout the Scores apart from that Dad and I came 4th (and were 1st P/C but having won last year twas given to the Ashtons who were also top 8 i think)

Right that's me done. Time for bed, ready for circuits tomorrow
And yes the weather saturday was foul but fantastic for dad and I cos the navigation was v tricksy - hence we did quite well and got trashed today on the running!

Well for my first KIMM it was certainly a tough one!

Talk about a weekend of two halves, the weather change from Sat to Sun was remarkable and I'm pleased I know what Galloway actually looks like!
At least it was pretty warm the whole weekend, even if those stream crossings did chill those sensitive areas!

I can't say I'm happy with my performance (a dismal 46th on B) but I was suffering with a knee injury from the end of day 1 which made running on tracks and downhill incredibly painful but uphill walking seemed OK (bizzare)
Sadly as they were the only bits you could run it meant we were very slow indeed!

What distressed me the most was my dreadful mountain navigation abilities though. As someone who would like to consider myself a good orienteer, I made several large errors and found it very difficult to get used to the map scale and contour interval and judge height on slopes.

I now have an enormous amount of respect for the people who do these things and the fact that orienteers were leading most classes.

I would be fascinated to know what sort and amount of training Ifor did for this event, but I guess he's probably recovering at the moment.

As for Nails, Lilywhite, and GG, there should be some sort of rule forcing them to do the elite!

anybody got any idea of spread of ages on the elite? i'd be surprised if there were many under 30s

Ranulph Fiennes is 62 and finished in about 22 hours. Andrew Symonds Tom Owens how are 25 finished in 6th which is very pleasing to see.

Back in 1991 in Arochar when Al and myself came 2nd we must of been 22 and 23. That event makes last weekend seem easy by comparison we were out for 8.45 on the first day, only just finishing in daylight. I am very happy to of improved on that result it has taken a long time comming since 1991.

Ifor has now won all 3 mainland MM Elite classes (LAMM E,
KIMM E and SLMM Klets), I can think of 2 others, any advance on 2?
