KIMM/OMM

About 3/1 I'd suggest, Jon (based on looking at the other likely winners). Not that I'm offering you a bet at those odds mind!

This will be my umpteenth KIMM/OMM since 1987, but it is currently in jeopardy after I ricked my back looking for some elusive keys yesterday. This could be news for my partner who has been trying to contact me all day but my mobile phone is b*****ed"!
Hopefully it will be OK, chiropractor permitting, but it aint the ideal preparation
Personally I'm hoping for low cloud and extreme weather to sort out the runners from the navigators. My best ever result was in the white outs of the Northern Lakes in '92(?) when a local vicar instructed his flock to pray for us
It was also the source of my best KIMM story when we came across some guys pushing mountain bikes in over a foot of snow on Helvellyn "What are you doing?" I asked, "we're from Glenridding Outdoor Centre, it's mountain biking day" came the confident reply!!!!!
Am I the only person to suffer sunstroke on a mountain marathon in Galloway by the way? Although it was a Capricorn in July not the KIMM in October!

I want be taking any cash John but at least 10 to 1. I know Brendan and Angela manged 2nd on the Cheviot a few years back but I don't think Brendan is as fit this year, so I would be suprised by a win. There are other mixed teams how could do a top ten but there is realy a big diferance between a top ten and a win.

Brendan was not so fat a few years back when he won the Mountain Trial. I don't recall if it was that year when they came second or not.
It should be a good race whatever happens, there a plenty of teams you could make a case for.
I just hope I don't hold Al up and that he dose not hold me up. Then at least we will both get the result we deserve whatever it is...

Tom and Matt are running A, not elite (this year). After winning A at the LAMM, and winning the Euro-KIMM, you'd have to bet on them for the A though.
Tom did OK at the Worcestershire Beacon Race (11th?). Sounds healthy to me...

read the thread....they ain't on the same course!
doubt courses are going to be over-long as terrain is taken into account, and it was overplanned last year.
also -there is potential for foul weather on any course?
and -the weather is still very mild for this time of year, gone are the days of 5 inches of snow at the overnight camp -well i certainly hope so anyway.

Just turn up
Even if you don't get a partner sorted ahead of time there are usually a few others in the same boat at registration so you might still get a run. Have you spoken to Jen Longbottom? - she's very helpful.
