Could someone scan & post an old Errwood West map please?
Does anyone know if it is very steep and rough?

Sorry I've not got a map to post. But from what I remember it isn't steep but it is quite rough underfoot.

Yes steep and rough, but not totally devoid of technical interest. The moorland for day 2 far more runnable but due to lack of trees not really much of a challenge technically.

I thought it was pretty rough when I last visited there. That was a long time ago, I put it on the list of areas that I wouldn't rush to visit again. Mind you I did that with Macclesfield Forest and still went back.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

There is always Lincoln South Common if you want to avoid steep and rough areas
, which is rough (but fast) open hillside with some contour detail.
A few years ago someone said about it, "why would I want to run round a City park when I can do proper orienteering somewhere else?" then they turned up and got the shock of their lives. It ain't Docharn and Deishar but it ain't a soft City park either!
And you could get a sneak preview of part of the Bomber long-O

A fun weekend, well-organised. Tough, tough, tough moorland in places. I just never seem to get a good technique on it - but at least most others seemed to be walking uphill through it! I especially liked the challenge of the 'slippery bridge' on Day 1's run-in! Next year, I'm looking forward to an 'alligator-filled marsh' or some such hazard... Only joking...

It was after I slipped onto my back (wearing rubber studs!) on the bridge that they put out the warnings!
Enjoyed Twin Peaks thoroughly. I especially enjoyed the fact that they let us wear shorts on the second day....but it still probably wasnt the greatest idea to wear them.
Day one was a physically tough area, but Day 2 was excellent with large open areas to run around at great speeds.
I look forward to see what the organisers of Twin Peaks 2007 have in store!
