Why don't some enterprising young IT-savvy Orienteers make a short video or videos that illustrate Orienteering in the way they'd like it to be portrayed (eg use headcams, rushing through forest, jumping brashings, pushing aside saplings, etc).
Then post them on youtube and/or use viral marketing: send a copy to all your mailing list asking them to do the same to theirs.
If the videos were exciting or fun or both, it might start a wave effect.
