We just got back from running up Ben Vorlich (a relentless hour ascent) with beasting conditions at the top, and then it's off to Aviemore for the BASOC event at Docharn tomorrow.
Doesn't really get much better does it? What's everyone else up to?

Just back from running in Derbyshire, up Loose Hill, along to Hollins Cross, down to Edale then up Grindsbrook to the Kinder ridge and along that before dropping along to Winn Hill before finishing back at Hope. Weather was perfect for running and the views were pretty good (not as nice as Scotland tho!) All that and we only went with the intention to buy a tent for the OMM!

Stodge has done a canoe race (with Fatboy), I've run a cross country race (in the sunshine), nice dinner and CSI tonight followed by a district event on the edge of the Peaks tomorrow....

I took mum-in-law shopping, bought myself some new slippers then mowed the lawn....
I think I need some therapy.

2.5 hours mapping in knee deep heather today (the area's not all like that, but it gives the M21s a couple of physical legs to get their teeth into, quite literally if they put their foot in an unexpected pit, like what I did), followed by evening drawing up on OCAD - then club championship staggering around the pingoes of Hockham to look forward to tomorrow. Nice.

woke up
did some work
fuelled up the car
went home
lots more work to do tomorrow
tis a shame, cause i was really motivated to do some running this weekend.
i'll be happy when glasgow drivers pick up international and domestic freight at the same time. then i can get me some running and stop me some working.
i need to run
for once actually feel bad when i don't
weekends suck

Gardening yesterday, shredding for compost then picking the grapes for the wine. Evening spent taking grapes off fronds. Today could have gone to O event but..... more gardening then more work on grapes. Hope the wine will be worth it.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Yesterday
morning: food shopping, booked event entries/accommodation etc. for various O weekends (including Oxford and Venice!);
afternoon: read book, went for a run, decluttered part of office; marked books
evening: went to Ilkley Literature Festival to poetry reading by Harriet Walter and Kate Littlewood
Today
am in school putting up displays, planning for next week, doing paperwork (except for this break!). Will be running home over moors afterwards (looks a lovely day). Rest of family off O-ing at Watergrove.

Really Awk! does the 'workforce agreement' not apply where you are?

Today, I decided that I wasn't going to travel 50miles each way to the league event, so I got up late and went for a long run on Sandwell Valley instead ... bliss. I just need to persuade Lumpy to bring me the last beer from the fridge while I sit here with my feet up

It's what many teachers have to do. Had a meeting with a parent on Friday night and wanted to go to the gym. So, pay back is in school at weekend - putting up displays, preparing for the two Assemblies I'm taking on Monday and Tuesday, marking, getting new reading books for all my class ........I could go on.
Luckily only two weeks to half term when we're off on a non-O break to Prague. Can't wait!!

I think Harley is referring to the bit in the (school) workforce agreement about putting up displays - teachers should not have to do it. If you chose to that is another matter.
But what about these Glasgow freight drivers - how does that work?

Got the beer! yeah - thanks Lumpy! Finished the planning and prep, which involved listening to Peter and the Wolf in advance of Dance on Tuesday (not exactly onerous)now I think I'll get off nopesport and read a book until Jane Eyre comes on the telly.
