Yep we can meet both but only if Argentina lose to Holland later today, in which case we could meet them in the quarters. We can't meet Germany till the final now though.

I have been staying in stuttgart for the last few days though I managed to get tickets for germany sweden in munich yesterday in the sweden end(200 euros an hour before the match ). As a scot wanting england to win the world cup, the behaviour of a number of fans (small compared to the total england fanbase but in the hundreds, thousands) has been an absolute embarrassment.

I have seen fans from all different countries and while you come across a few oddballs (especially croatia) from other countries you do not see organised groups of 30-40 fans all wearing raf branded tshirts and singing the german bomber song. I was wearing a sweden shiurt all the way to munich yesterday on the train with thousands of german fans and at some points i was alone for an hour or so in munich which was swarming with german fans and not once did i feel threatened. Large groups of england fans have been camping outside the fan fest the area of the big screen after games just to attack the german fans leaving afterwards (i saw this in person on friday and from my friends yesterday, where before there was a small police presence in various towns for croatia australia, sweden v germany, trinidad v parguay, usa v italy there are police everywhere now. I have also met tonnes of indiviual england fans and not one has been unfriendly but stuttgart is already sick of the england fans.

england have some of the most educated and passionate fans in the world, who get on with everybody and love footballe for exactly what it is, a chance to celebrate with people from other countries. and then there are a bunch of idiotic fuckwits who spoil it for everybody. it's the same at every big tournament.

if i get the chance to go to a world cup again (i was cruising around france in 98) i will do my utmost to avoid every england game and any big gathering of england fans. it will be infinitely more enjoyable.

FFS - england fans were even trying to fight the police in bournemouth town centre after we beat paraguay!!! (see my flickr stream). absolutely ridiculous.
