So what are you doing to avoid anything to do with the World Cup over the next few weeks? We have just had a very pleasant, quiet, end of the week, Friday meal in an empty restaurant during the Germany/Costa Rica match, and we intend travelling to the Borders for the Harvester tomorrow on traffic free roads during the England/Paraguay match.
Other alternative suggestions??

Well, I played frisbee golf this afternoon, which was ominously quiet despite the lovely sunshine, with everyone being clad in Sweden shirts and gathering in the town centre. It's really good fun, even if I'm incapable of throwing in any direction but left.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

I just kept ending up 20 metres into the forest where you need about 4 throws just to get back to the clear bit! Definitely no expert. Loads of fun though. Are you out in Sweden then?

I went for a 6 hour run up Ben Macdui, Cairngorm and Derry Cairngorm, it was awesome, spanking sunshine, windy as hell though!!
legs are feeling pretty shagged now though, but i think the swim in thr Linn of Dee did help somewhat.
saw some of the footy, but just cos it was on, and well done T&T, i have them in my work sweepstake!!
off biking tomorrow pm probably to escape the footy!!

We put on the last of our Malvern mini-League events. I didn't think anyone would come what with the football, the harvester and local school fairs etc. but over 110 people came including about 5 new families (I can't believe there are any more out there) they did 70 runs betwen them. We had people from France, Spain, England, Scotland and Wales and clubs as far flung as SWOC, SLOW, NATO and WAROC. I set it up in a lovely shady part of the car park and it wasn't until I staggered up the ramparts of the hill fort at British camp for my own run at 2.30 that I realised how hot it was!

I went camping for the weekend at the Harvesters.
No football was mentioned (within my vacinity anyway).

I want to walk up the side of the mountain, I want to walk down the other side of the mountain. I want to swim in the river, lie in the sun. I want to try being nice to everyone.

We ended up in A&E on Sunday afternoon after a German guy we'd persuaded to come to his first orienteering event fell ill with an allergic reaction / heat rash / heat stroke. The TV in the waiting room had a sign saying something like "If you find anything on the TV offensive, please ask a member of staff to change channels". We didn't think that they would share our opinion of the World Cup, so didn't request a change! The casualty is fine, and will considering orienteering again outside the hayfever season.

Went to a rock festival (Download) to avoid football (the second reason after the music!). Much to my surprise they put a HUGE screen for the football near the entrance to the campsite!! I couldnt get back to my tent

What a beautiful day yesterday was. We returned to Kinder Scout, last visited probably 20 odd years ago, and enjoyed marvellous views and no football, unless you count the many youngsters haring across the peat hags, parents in tow, to get down in time for the transmission! We are sure we saw Craney and running mate on some large boulders en route to the Downfall??
