Congrats to everybody who got selected.

...i'm confused by the womens selections though. How can someone who comes 2nd in BUSA (the main selection race) not get selected? Can someone explain the logic behind these selections (not saying the selection is wrong just interested to know the reasons behind them)? Also is there a selection criteria somewhere that somone can point me to?

Which says...

Selection will be based mainly on the following races:
BUSA Individual 11 March
British Long Distance Championships 1 April
Scottish Individual Championships 27 May
Other known form may be taken into account.

Looking at the list it could be suggested that more weight was placed on the Scottish, possibly as being most relevant to Slovakia as well as the most up to date form guide. I agree it's a tough call.

As World Students is a big all expenses drinking session maybe the 'all known form' includes your performance in the pub.

Aislinn should maybe try necking her pints a bit quicker

This certainly looks like whats happened for a couple of the selections maybe this should've been mentioned in the selection criteria?

I don't no, obviously i am being slightly biased here but want to make it clear i'm not getting at anyone who has been selected, i congratulate them on it, it looks a good strong team and i'mhappy for them, its good for orienteering that we have this problem of too many good ones to pick from, however, Aislinn has run all the races, produced 2nd at BUSA (i reckon she could give them a run for their money in a drinking comp too ) granted the other 2 runs weren't to the same level as BUSA but surely you need to do the races to be selected?

If others were injured etc. then fair enough which is why i asked for the selection to be explained a bit thats all.
