how bizarre
in 21 years, i can only remember two events being cancelled.
one due to a blizzard - you honestly could not see two feet in front of you!
and the other was due to heavy snow fall (day2 of JK)
there must have been more. my memory must just be awful.

Many events got cancelled a few years ago due to the infamous
FOOT AND MOUTH
(eg. Shining Cliff, DVO)
But Bluebells is the wierdest yet!

I remember that. Rob Hart had brought a car load of clubmates over from Sweden for the elite tests and then the JK in Wales the following weekend
1st Saturday - elite test short race, final void as a control for the final collected in by mistake when the prologue controls collected.
1st Sunday - elite test long race cancelled because of flooding.
2nd Saturday - JK elite short race allowed to stand despite dodgy crossing point and one control hung on the wrong crag.
2nd Sunday - JK elite long race cancelled because of overnight snow making the rocks slippery or some such reason.
Bet they were really glad they came to Britain for their Easter races!
Why did I do that...

that was well funny, all the wee kids and old grannies/granddads could race in all the snow, but the fitest/strongest runners were not allowed to!
you have to laugh really!!

Guest. I don't know anything about the event in the NE but if it were a badge event it might have been cancelled due to economic viability. NE events are not well supported, and numbers for badge events this weekend are likely to be down slightly due to BEOC sprint and the fact Rownley Warren is now a WRE. Unfortunately the info on BOF web site doesn't give a reason. I've looked again and it is a district which I believe is colour coded so the above is irrelevant to that event.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.
