There may be some difficulty in building the list to start with, but hopefully it could be checked using sprint or middle distance races where more classes run the same course.

The same course is already used by multiple classes at Regional events. At the moment this is of limited use as the combinations are usual the same. However it shouldn't be difficult to stage some events where the combinations are altered slightly. eg putting M45L on the same course as the M40L rather than M50L. This would at least enable a baseline to be established.

Jayne certainly shouldn't be discouraged from setting up a single list. With the panoply of data involved and a stats degree behind her she could surely answer the question of whether the cross-correlation is meaningful or not (and get herself a good mark in the process).

Thanks for that, Graeme. I think that's still what I intend to do, at least it'll show what could be done and whether it could work, or not.
