Just a note to warn people who might be driving up to Oban on Saturday morning.
Last weekend I drove from Edinburgh past Stirling, through Callendar to Strathyre to run the Stuc A Chroin race.
I left Edinburgh at 11am
It was a glorious sunny day and the tourists were out in force. Trafic was continous and often slow from leaving the motorway. There was a major tail back right through Callendar, crawling for a mile through the town.
Be warned, if it is another nice weekend the journey from Stirling to Oban, or Glasgow to Oban could take an hour longer than it should.
Leave early and you'll probably miss the traffic
leave late and you could well miss your start.

This event has proved to be very popular with Scots and many from south of the border (not just FCC competitors).
The start list is very tight (440), and it will be very difficult to slot in late arrivals. So make sure you allow plenty of time for travelling.
Final details, Start times and Control descriptions are all now available from http://www.ecko.org.uk/sol4
The recommended route from the Glasgow area is:
Turn off the A82 at Tarbet on to the A83, past the “Rest and Be Thankful to Inverary, and then the A819 north to rejoin the A85. Five miles longer – but misses the worst of the A82 north of Tarbet (more scenic too!).
