The helicopter was part of the exercise to get the rescuse dogs used to sitting etc in a helicopter. Some of the younger kids managed to sit on the pilots seat, they thought it was great. I have some photos but do not know how to reduce them down the less than 256K for posting, any help?.
Thanks to all who turned up, now for some sympathy, the controller and I spent 5 hours on Saturday putting out SI stakes, 3 hours on Sunday morning putting out SI units and 4 hours collecting controls in (by the way there are still 10 controls out there, it was to cold and dark last night, they are being collected in tomorrow). I have feet like blocks of ice and thighs like Hercules!. I really enjoyed planning and seeing OFD in sunshine, rain, mist, wind and finally snow. Fantastic. I have sent the organiser the OCAD files for the event as I think you Nopesport gurus can load them in for people to put their course route on.

When I plan an event I rarely have to do any collecting, I reckon I've done my bit by then and am usually knackered anyway. When you've been up since 5am, or earlier sometimes, I'm more than happy to sit down and hand out bits of map to willing volunteers to go collecting kites in. Maybe we're lucky, but we always have at least half a dozen people hanging around to help get the kites in, and then it doesn't take very long either. If I haven't planned I normally like to get back out in the area and see where I went wrong too!
