Nice to be out in a runnable forest. Even I managed just over 10 m/km which has always been my bench mark. Didn't make the 2m30 time allowed for the road crossing even though I jogged most of it!However Mike Murray's time on M60 was ridiculous!! How does he do it?

He was beaten by 1 second!
What's more ridiculous was the course length; first 3 under 40 minutes; short O surely!

Will be interesting to see if the controller sticks to what was stated in the details and limit the road crossing time to 2:30 - according to what was stated there, everyone who took longer than this should have the extra time counted in their total. The provisional results seem to deduct the whole leg time however, regardless of how long it took.
On some courses (particularly eg veteran women) it seems quite a few people were taking longer than the 2:30, so perhaps in hindsight this wasn't long enough. However there were also some very fast M21's who managed to take over 3 minutes - an extended breather for them, and would seem unfair to just deduct the whole leg time given what was set out in the details.
An excellent event though, thoroughly enjoyed running through lovely fast runnable forest with some very good courses and interesting long legs.

For the people who were commenting on old men's results at Sutton Park, the top 15 on Burnham Beeches M21L makes interesting reading:
M20, M40, M40, M21 (Finnish), M40,
M40, W21, M45, M21 (hurrah!), M21,
M21, M21, M40, M21, M50
(after correcting the road-crossing glitches: either not subtracted (Mercer, S Rollins, Barrett) or >2:30 subtracted (Dickson))
No regional championships to provide any distortions here, and it's a depressingly familiar story.

Or perhaps M21S didn't spend so long in the slower southern section of the area.

Or perhaps it's because that certain M21S has a tendency of winning every M21S event at southern regional events by at least 5-10 minutes and regularly runs as fast as the top M21L's...
