Winter Olympics
Aren't they just awesome?! Csaba and I have a new favourite sport in the shape of snowboard cross today - fantastic for spectators. Maybe we should invent super steep downhill sprint races with short gaffling and contact permitted to get into the olympics? Csaba says that's not real orienteering though...I think he's been in Britain too long

Will? We've got proper fire now!

totally agree on the snowboarder cross, great fun. after the chicks play-off rounds today when the brazilian cruised past the crash and into 9th place, then only 1/4 finished the 5-8 "small final" i was preying that all the riders in the big final would crash out and the brazilian would get a medal! nearly happened as well, but they managed to pick themselves up - mostly.
that american is going to be in counseling for years!
the short head-to-head racing has already been started... the russians called it "The O-Show", i copied it on Salisbury crags for the first ns birthday celerations.

Snowboard cross has been fantastic to watch, I loved it when they all crashed and the Brazilian went through! Shame about our girl though, pretty unlucky. And then of course the American girl who was so far in the lead until she started showing off and fell...so funny!
Loving the curling too, so gripping but the ladies have just lost rather shockingly to Canada: 9-3, oops...
And of course our silver medal in the skeleton yesterday, brilliant 2nd run from Shelly Rudman. I think it's shocking that the people of her village had to raise 4 grand for her to even go there though, because she couldn't get the funding. They're always going on about potential, but try telling me that a girl who has got herself to world ranked 5th without any proper funding doesn't have a medal chance...
Finally I think Chemmy Allcott deserves a mention for her fabulous run in the Downhill, 11th place but only a quarter of a second of 5th. Best of luck to her in the combined slalom later today.

They shouldn't, him or her just needed to measure them before the race.

I rode a snowboard cross track today. Pretended I was in the olympics and races some skiers out of the gates. Great fun. Although there was a roaring crowd to greet me at the bottom.
