Chesterfield to BOF Office
Can any of you Sheffield/Midland types suggest a nice way to run from Chesterfield station to BOF office tomorrow morning? It's about 10 miles straight line so I reckon I can make it by being a teensy bit late for the start of management committee. Any suggestions?
Will? We've got proper fire now!

None of the direct routes are that nice. If you want a longer one head up through Linacre to the west then down toward Beeley Moor, but that's quite a bit more than 10 miles. I'd recommend bringing a bike and doing something like that, or get a bus to Darley Dale area then do a circular run to the south.

Chesterfield to BOF
Here goes I hope you can follow it.
From the Railway Station go thorugh the town centre to Queens Park Sports Centre.
Just down form there follow the minor road past the Unicorn Tavern and going westwards. This will take you past the back of Morrisons where you can cross Walton Road and take the footpaths which follow the River Hipper.
Following the path to Somersall PArk and then cross over road and keeping heading west to Holymoorside.
From Holymoorside look for the track southwards which goes up through woods to the Golf Course at Stone Edge. The path is steep but walled on both sides and good hard work.
Follow path across Golf Course and go thorugh woods on far side to come out on main Matlock Road.
Turn right and head for Red Lion Pub. Go past pub and then turn left down minor road. After 100 yds turn right on footpath to Alicehead Farm, At ALicehead cross road and continue to Dryhurst Farm once past here don't try to folow path but go round track instead.
Carry on path to Uppertown.
From there follow very mnor road to via Hodge Lane to give way on B road.
Cross over and follow footpath along top of moors going past Darwin Forest and Darley Forest Grange.
Straight across Flash Lane on footpath to Fallinge Edge.
Down road a bit and then path on left taking you down to Northwood just north of the BOF offices.
If you haven't got a map though you will get lost.
Cheers

Anyone would think Steve ran this twice a week.
I was going to suggest getting a taxi to Kelstedge, then a loop up via Farley Moor, Bottom Moor, Whitesprings and Hall Dale (or whatever these areas are called these days).
Perhaps running to BOF office meetings should be made compulsory.
