Worth a comment on the new style CompassSport - some great articles and really good print quality. Well done Mr Barrable.

If Mr B did write the centre page article, I am grateful to him for only mentioning my time.

Generally, if there is no author, then I most probably wrote it.
My aim is to get as many people contributing as is possible and I just "manage" the editing, but inevitably I have to put some of my words in to the mag. I dont think readers want my angle on things all the time.
Thanks for all the e-mailed comments and praise for the magazine so far! It was our first effort so we are still tweaking a few things and trying things out. Apols if you had trouble reading the MicrO article - the background ended up being a bit too dark in the final print.
Happy Reading!

looks fantastic, great to see all the maps and routes especially. Also enjoyed the O-doku, great idea and was good to see the return of the Compass Sport puzzle! tTey had disappeared over the last couple of years, with the exception of the occasional photo-O. I always used to enjoy the ones where you had to work out who belonged to which club and owned each item of kit, from a few clues.

Try before you buy?
Any chance of a front cover image appearing on the website to see what the magazine looks like now, and possibly an example of an article????
I don't want to part with my money just yet until i see an example of what i'm buying?!!

Yes, I've now seen the new edition too, and it's good!
A little densely packed with type in places, perhaps, but the higher number of map segments is a plus.
I hope Nick gets the support this initial effort deserves. Good luck!

I thought the article about the runners at the top was good. In both cases they were names known to me but that was all. They are not in my age class but I found the articles interesting. It was good to hear about the history behind people who aren't 21s or GB squad.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Nope, I had the similar problems! Unofrtunately it's just something we need to try and and get wrong - the printing was much darker than expected on a good few of the pages. Hopefully this will be sorted by the next issue!

I thought the new layout was very good. Having lots of maps was good. Good range of articles.
I personally didn't like the split analysis design. And I thought i was strange to start an article on P33 and continue it on P37. There was also one section, about world students, where the coloumn was very thin and it made for very confusing reading, the bit where it listed the names.
