The answer is no. If you run for LEI in the individual you must run for Lei in the relay to be competitive. Or run for OK ravinen in both ofcourse.
You can run an ad hoc relay with anyone whatever their club.

This doesn't fit very well with what Simon E said earlier - have you checked with BOF Rules Group as he suggested? (apologies if you have)

Would be good to have a definitive statement that is agreed by Rules Group so that there is no risk of appeals etc afterwards devaluing the event......

I'm pretty sure they are as well - I've been running for different clubs in JK individual and relay (one open, one closed) for 15 years, always within the rules I thought!

But as Jon X says, we need a definitive statement from the organisers beforehand, not appeals and controversy afterwards...

On closed clubs:

My interpreation is that since there are two separate Event Guidelines, one for JK Individual, one for JK Relay, then BOF Rules Group regards these as separate events. (And the text of the guidelines tends to support this).

In which case there is no need to get the agreement of the Organiser (which otherwise would be required under 3.2.4) - you can complete for your open club in one and your closed club in the other, provided both are on your BOF membership record.

(Accept that this doesn't cover the Overseas club issue, for which clarification is still required)

I'd skip the organisers and go for getting a definitive statement from BOF rules group - they're the ones that are ultimately responsible.

I think the problem is that the rules are open to interpretation/bending
- only one club per competition: are the JK relays a separate competition to the JK individual races (or indeed, do the two JK days count as separate competitions)?
- one open and one closed club per year: nothing is mentioned as to "within the UK" or what the status of foreign clubs is within this count

I'm sure there's plenty of other places where a bit of tightening up could save a lot of argument.

If INT offers some cash I can do some training and run for them....and trust me they won't have to break the bank considering the offers I've had already
