Whilst monkeying around in the woods today, I found a rusty old bath, and it set me thinking - what's the weirdest thing anyone has come across whilst orienteering / training? I'm particularly interested in gruesome details, such as those found in this excerpt recounted by a friend of a friend:
"I put my foot in what felt like a crusty old football, and I tried to shake it off. When it wouldn't come off, I bent down, and to my horror, I realised that I'd stepped in a rotten dog's head with maggots coming out of its eyes. I was promptly sick, but quickly regained my composure, and put the rotten head on a stick to scare later competitors."
Factual accuracy isn't that important.
