It says on the BOF website that the Interland selections have been announcved - but when you go in to look at them it's only the over 35s - where are the rest?

Well that's a communication problem for English orienteers to address then... for once it's not BOF's fault as BOF is British & kindly hosts the EOC pages.

Good God I was only asking where the under 35 selections were in a place where I thought it might be easier to get an answer - not a lecture on the internal politics of the home nations - I never said it was BOF's fault - you are highly defensive guest - and not very helpful either!

I dont think the junior selections have been made yet, i think it is different selectors who do that. I may be completely wrong though.

BOF news says junior selection policy is announced - the selection races havn't happened yet

Nah! That's for next year's home international. th interland ones were this autumn. Mharky's right I guess.

Marky is right - there are separate selectors for the juniors, seniors and veterans for the Home Internationals and Interland and the others haven't done their bit yet!

OK, I'll ask the newcomers question: Why does the vets selection have three reserves for every runner? That's a pretty high attrition rate. Is there some close combat orienteering involved?

Ha ha ha - the old timers are notoriously fragile I guess! Too many Christmas congas and they'll be out for the season

The junior selection notice said that all known form up to six weeks before the competition would be taken into account, so that will be the sort of timescale for when the junior selections are made. Haven't yet been able to find out when the race is yet though (usually sometime in Feb/Mar)!!

Certainly some amusement in our household to see that I was 9th reserve for M40/M45! Anyone know if "Kind Hearts and Coronets" is on TV over Christmas - a potentially inspiring film.

The BOF website is mis-leading, as it is only the Veteran selections that have so far been announced. The Junior and Senior selections should be announced in early/mid Jan next year.
