A swedish friend is coming over for the JK. Will i be allowed to run for LEI in the individual and OK ravinen in the relay?
I have tried getting in contact with the relay organiser via email but have had no reply.
A question...

BOF rule 3.2.1 suggests not. It does appear that if you both run for LEI, that would be OK.
In practice, this rule is often broken and nobody will care as long as you dont win.

Agree that you can only represent the one club.
But the JK Relay guideline allows mixed-club teams in the ad-hoc classes.
And also that teams entered competitively in other classes many become non-comp on the day due to replacement of runners. Unclear whether this includes replacement by someone from another club ...

You can only run for one Open club in BOF events so its either Leicester or OK Ravinen, but not both.
If only life were that simple. Rule 3.2 on club representation is quite clearly only relevant to BOF clubs, since it refers to "the club they have indicated on their BOF membership form". I'd say we missed a trick when we wrote it like this, but then we always expected that particular problems would be picked up by event guidelines (as stated in rule 3.1.1).
The JK Relays have been a perpetual nightmare in terms of eligibility. If pressed I'd say it was acceptable to run for one foreign club and one BOF club per year, and therefore you could run for different clubs in the JK individual and relay. However, I no longer have the fun of sorting things like this out.
I'd suggest you or the organiser should ask Rules Group to decide. Barry is probably lurking somewhere and will see this, but the official route would be via your Association representative on Rules Group.

I've run for IFK Gothenburg in the individual then won the relay with Warrior. I believe an elite who writes alot on this forum complained - his complaint was rejected because I wasn't breaking the rules and he looked like a sad loser. So run for your 2 clubs, as long as one is foreign its not a problem.

Who May Compete: All members of a team (except for those in an ad-hoc class) shall
be members of the same club which must be affiliated either to
BOF or to another member federation of the IOF.
Above from JK Relay Guidelines.... doesn't say you need to compete for same club as JK Individual.....

If this had been in place last year, then would the EUOC team that won the JK Trophy have been disqualified because Rocky ran as INT in the individual?
And would the ShUOC team that came second also have been disqualified because Craney ran for WCH in the individual and Oli ran for SYO?
Or are closed clubs different?

pretty sure closed clubs is a different matter: in the individual you represent both your open and closed clubs?
anyway: i only ran for int cos thats what i'm entered as in the bof database, so when lazy entries secretaries put your bof no into their system they don't check whether any of your details are different on the form.
mind you, from what i'm hearing INT could be the team to beat this year...
