Anyone recommend a good waterproof running cag please?
Guy in Blacks reckoned the Helly Hanson Lite top (I think it was) at around £50 quid was much the same as (my) Berghaus Extreme Paclite (about £140 when purchased I think and seen good service on a number of very wet KIMMs). He didn't seem to think that Gore-tex was anything special?! Don't think he had a clue personally, but if there is anything out there at (hopefully) a bit less than £140, junior Man of Kent will be getting one for Xmas!

one can debate the merits of GoreTex style breathable fabrics for running in, since they are never going to keep you dry, some say its better to wear the equivalent of a bin-bag and just focus on staying warm.
agree however that the haglofs goretex paclite is a fine jacket, waterproofing doesnt last forever but the hood is good and the vents under the arms can let some of the steam out.
i'm always happy running in a thermal and windproof style jacket.

I've got a lowe Alpine Rush jacket. Ran in it at the Kimm. Was pretty good, it's pretty light, and kept me dry. Not too expensive either.

I've got a Marmot Precip which I have fallen in love with. Used it on the Kimm, its light but waterproof, with handy underarm zips too! For the summer I have a windproof Montane featherlite smock thing which goes down to about the size of a satsuma and is really really light, very good for running when its a bit warmer or as a windproof shell in winter.

Are these cags that fold into a butt-bag? If not, any recommendations on these? Preferably cheap. Cheap is good.
I want to walk up the side of the mountain, I want to walk down the other side of the mountain. I want to swim in the river, lie in the sun. I want to try being nice to everyone.

Thanks for the advice guys. Went for the Marmot Precip in the end as Snow and Rock are selling at £25 off on their website. Also had good reviews on running forums.
