First chance to get on nopesport since sunday and i just want to say how great it was. A tough course, good tough area, and a great atmosphere. The buffet afterwards was a genius idea. Two points though - first the 1.5km back to the car park after the finish was an absolute killer and the fact that it was an open area i felt reduced the effectiveness of the butterfly loops.
Apart from that fantastic - so why werent there more people there?
I seem to remember always reading posts on nopesport about 'traditionalists' who insist courses are getting too short and bring back proper classic races. Here is a perfect opportunity for a good long hard race in technical terrain 'fairly' centrally located, and barely a handful of elites turn up - specifically none of the ones advocating more longer races spread throughout the season.
Basically what i am saying is - top race so go next year it'll be fun

Glad GG liked the event. Interesting feedback on butterflies in open areas. I only saw Brendan Bolland and Mark Saunders on the final butterfly and they were on their own. Given the choice of TD5 terrain available in the Lake District for the event in the majority of cases open areas are most likely. BTW no idea yet when or where the the next event is to be held!
