Just another quick message from my travels, NZ is fekcing magic, did a multisport race at the weekend, different to Adventure racing where the course is set, so no nav to be done, you just mountain bike, run, road bike and kayak your way along the course.
It was the Motu Challenge, was an awesome race, over 700 people taking part, about85 individual and the rest in teams of 2 and 4.
was great fun, all 172km of it, i took about 9hrs 20 to complete the course, after going from 2nd place to last within 100m of the start as i got a puncture on my mountain bike, which ultimately cost me about an hour overall due to not riding with a bunch and not racing with the faster people!
But it was great fun i tell you. so if anyone is out in NZ around this time next year, get involved.

Sounds top !
I have to say though that Scotland is equally excellent.
FRAs yesterday - it was great, about 700 people running, 4 legs up the awesome Ochils, warm sunshine, autumn colours, good friends, good fun, good results.
Its all out there to be done.

would be well up for the Heb, sounds like a top race to do,
just been out for 3hrs on my mountain bike on some awesome single track, one wee fall though, even got blood on my leg to prove it!!
sun hasn't stopped shining today! spanking
glad scotland is still good, its a close run thing between NZ and scotland, just the fact that the sports mentality is so much better here, everyone knows about it and more than most do some kind of sport. the atmosphere is great.
have to get that going back home i think, try and set up some mulitsport races for folks in scotland!
game on

The Wilderness ARC was in Aug 2005 and next will be May 2006. That involved foot travel, navigation, bikes, kayaks, swimming, gorges, ropes etc. The Open 5 series in northern England is withing reach of Scotland - last weekend in based at Blanchland, County Durham, last event of the series in early Dec, central lakes area. Open 5 are 5 hr score events, split as chosen by competitors between running & biking.
