It was no. 4 which was a drinks control in the forest. There was one unit. The two blokes manning the drinks saw her punch, Dana Brozkova saw her punch, Hev heard the beep, it recorded in the box she had punched but not on her card and apparently current IOF rules mean disqualification.
Seems crazy.
Some of the other teams complained that some teams had v6 cards, they were especially worried for the advantage in the sprint and after that we were forced to use the old cards.
People were understandably pissed off about this.

It's not strictly true that heathers card registered in the box..
It registered her card number to say she'd been there but it didn't register the time she was there and instead said "error a". According to the SI expert that the jury consulted error a means that the SI card wasn't held in long enough to record properly.
So that's why she wasn't reinstated. Seems crazy to me, and as chris terkelson pointed out, its stupid that people can get on the podium by following someone for most of the course but get disqulified when they've actually completed the whole course!
The organisers said they wanted to be able to reinstate heather but that was the rules so there wasn't anything they could do.
It seems that SI isn't as great as i thought, or maybe the rules need to be changed somehow to accommodate things like this. Anna konrig olsen had to pin punch the whole way round her course which must have cost her quite a lot of time in total.
I've heard of several problems people have had with the old version SI cards but none with the new ones so far. Seems like all "important" races should be forced to use the new ones and not forced to use the old ones!
SI also need to investigate if/how it's possible to get a beep and yet still not register in the box properly.
It's a great shame for heather as she would have been 6th and it definately highlights that something needs to be done so that similar things don't happen in the future...
