Just because hardly anyone enters, does that make them pointless?
Although I would be tempted to call the Novice class Mens/Womens, rather than 21, to encourage other beginners to have a go.

Well if

indicate a true result.
i.e. Zero M21Ns and zero W21Ns but two courses having been planned for them... then YES.
There was 1 runner on M21V and 1 on W21V. Did these people enjoy winning or would they have been better off on a different course where they could have compared their performance with their fellow competitors.
Goodness me... I must be getting grumpy... this nonsense has never bothered me before... I'll get interested in BOF membership fees next....

There are some of us who see the entire complex paraphenalia of adult L, S, V, N, X, Y, Z etc. age classes as a complete waste of time at least at regional level where numbers in many classes are boringly small. I'm really not bothered whether the person I'm running against is 2 minutes, 2 years or 2 decades different to me - it's whether we're of a similar standard or not that makes life interesting. For many of us, if you want a decent race you go to a district event, or those with just one or two classes/courses.
