c'mon, that can't count surely...it was only on the big screen, not telly! we ended up on there quite a bit actually...as brit camp was right behind the camera that day! but the thing i was on about i actually saw on swedish national news!

Rob F's brother appeared on TV twice - once on Midland's Today at a farm where they were making cider but the real claim to fame was appearing on 'You've been framed' flicking the Vs at the camera when he was two days old. Hocolite appeared in that too. That clip has been shown a few times.. 19 years later, his attitude hasn't changed...

Blue Peter

In fact, I've had a Blue Peter 'appearance' too: they showed the Christmas Card I sent to them in 1988 - a cut-out 'Blue Peter' logo made out of blue card.

Quite pathetically, I had my finger over the record button for several consecutive programmes, and somewhere in Leicester, I believe, is the footage.

Apart from that, I reckon the most desperate posting so far was the one about being glimpsed on a news bulletin featuring a swimming pool roof. But surely that can be beaten...

Hubby was on Uiversity Challenge in the 60's!!
but he has done Krypton Factor, 15 to 1, Countdown and Weakest Link more recently.

When it was Blue Peter's anniversary, they sent out balloons with golden tickets attached. If you found one you could claim a 'gold' blue peter badge (!). We were at College and spotted a balloon + ticket in a tree - Tony shinned up the tree at dead of night to discover it had been thrown out of the window by the girl who lived above. We sent it to Blue Peter and received a letter from Biddy Baxter (remember her?) who said we couldn't have golden badges but we could have ordinary cloth ones 'to sew on our anoraks'. We were 21+26 at the time! Still have the letter and the badges, how sad is that?

ps I was Tony from Terrovision's Neighbourhood Watch Officer - beat that!

Mr H. is on TV all the time - he's currently restoring a narrow boat on Discovery on Wednesday nights - keeps him out of mischief :roll:

That's Mrs H's forte, she's done several of those and always sells O brilliantly. Rosalind did as well in Ireland.

Many orienteers have of course featured on the recent Sportnation world cup programs on Sky. Lots of clips of assembley areas/crowds etc. Pretty sure I saw the back of me in the assembley area at Mycthett on yesterday's program...

A certain relative of mine had a great TV interview on BBC South news at the British Schools orienteering champs in 1992-ish - after saying he was moderately pleased with his run, and they finished by asking him how well he thought he would do, to which he replied that he was hoping for "about first". Classic.

Video Nasty

Paulo - did you by any chance get a video of that Sportnation programme? Wasn't it of the Guildford World Cup carnage? I was away this weekend, but I don't think Sky Digital Channel 437 or whatever is on my 'basic' NTL package anyway.

Has your dad been successful at the Mastermind application I heard he'd made?

Yes, it's been on Sky Sports 3/Extra. Got it all taped and have promised to send Ian video of it all after the final part is on next week.

This weekend's program had around 25 mins of footage of the World Cup, all pretty good stuff - even with map extracts on the screen showing route analysis that actually worked pretty well, and a kind of 'as live' footage at controls - "let's see if this runner will beat the fastest time through at control no. 18 .... " and then his time flashes up on the screen as he punches "oh, and he's taken the lead!". Think it worked as well as it could have done.

Sportsnation was on the normal non digital analogue sky as well as the digital.
