Surveying the hysterical scenes around Trafalgar Square yesterday, one could be forgiven for imagining that England's cricketers had ended world poverty, solved the international oil crisis and discovered a panacea for global warming

that herald article sums up so many scotish people, especially relating to sport.
Total cocks, who are secretly really peeved that we don't play as GB so they could get some adulation.
The cricket was awesome, how often does any sport get that exciting, and the celebrations didn't seem enough if you ask me, it was only vailable to a small number of people in London, they should be touring the country ( Except scotland of course, as the heathens up there don't understand the game!)
Ben, i'm very jeolous of you getting to meet Freddie, what an awesome bloke.
Off to Thailand now, catch ya all later
Oh, and come on the Elephant boys!

perhaps the greatest ashes series in history, full of excitement and tension, never quite sure what's going to happen next, and with England finally winning against what has been labelled as one of the greatest sides of all time, and you're still not taken on board??

and hence it's a travesty that for a few years at least there will be no live cricket on terrestial TV, and only highlights of England's home matches on Channel 5. After grabbing the attention of so many over this summer, now we won't be able to watch the action.

Cricket is an immensely difficult game to play properly as its so full of tactics and strategies. Those who think it is boring or rubbish i think are a little simple minded. (or scottish, as they don't have a great international team, nor any players in the england team)

There were actually some scots out there who were cheering for england i was one of them, there was an entire office full at bp where i was working this summer. Its always good to see a good fight and a win for england (and wales in this case!) is a victory for cricket everywhere on our islands. Ok so i was supporting northern ireland and wales against england but against france, holland i would definitely get behind our english brothers as would most scots.
We may not have such great cricket players but then look at our population of 6-8million compared to England's around 50million- for every sporting star we have you should have 7!! Scots are everywhere in politics, tennis, golf, orienteering and as proud as we are to be scottish, most right minded scots are just as proud to be british. There are some bigots out there but there are bigots everywhere on this planet.
So maybe think before you open yer mouth next time and talk pish.
