From the TCA Website:
The Selectors have chosen the following to represent Great Britain at the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships in 2005.
The criteria used followed the TCA guidelines to pick a team we believe has real strength in depth that can build on the successes of previous years.
Congratulations to all and best of luck at the Mtb WOC 2005
Men's Team:
Steve Heading
Andy Conn
Liam Corner
Andy Simpson
Phil Winskill
Killian Lomas
Non Travelling Reserves:
1. Paul Trott
2. Rick Fetherston
Women's Team:
Helen Winskill
Janine Hensman
Karen Heppenstall
Julie Phelan
Vicky Thornton
In addition, it was felt that the selection process used in Australia for the relay teams had not resulted in any tangible benefits, with both being disqualified on the day. Therefore it was felt that preselection should be tried this time with the teams as follows:
Steve Heading
Andy Conn
Liam Corner
Andy Simpson
Phil Winskill
Killian Lomas
Helen Winskill
Janine Hensman
Karen Heppenstall
Selectors: Dave Peel, Peter Strong, Charlotte Somers Cocks
