What's the most enjoyable days orienteering you've ever had and why?
The subtext to this is that it's 90 degrees outside, and I am stuck in a boring office eating a tuna and cucumber sandwich that is only marginally more edible than the blister pack it was housed in. I need distracting!
PS. Not sure if this should be in the discussion section or the banter section. Moderators please feel free to move this post.
The good old days

In need of lunch, hay fever back room.
Not to mention air-horn, eating wasps, eating the Independent, putting PM's trousers up a tree and burying Stodge's stereo while it was still playing.

I can't remember anything about the o that weekend. Is that the difference between being 11 and 15? I can remember Dom and yo everything and also older birds wow.
I'm gonna keep it alive, and continue to be, flying like an eagle to my destiny.

theres so many! one that comes to mind though..
on a ShUOC trip to spain a couple of years ago, we drove for 3-4 hours down to the coast (ba-- something), where there had been a world ranking event the month before. we had maps of the courses with training flags still out. gorgeuos day, and i managed to do the 16km classic race in the morning followed by the 7.5km middle distance in the afternoon. the forest was just very runnable, with great technial bits, sand duney bits, rolling hills, .. , as well as awesome courses.
we also had the road trip which was cool, as well as cracking game of football-golf.

Can't say I've ever been to Merthyr Mawr, but I remember going to the Harvesters at Pembrey with the loudspeaker pointed at the marquee and the commentator kept us awake for most of the night interviewing trees. But lets not mention the Harvesters.
My best memory? A long time ago I got picked for the welsh team in the Home International as the other M19 who could finish the course couldn't make it. It was somewhere up in Scotland, no paths, really wild stuff but quite runnable. Unfortunately due to a combination of not being that fit and manipulating locals getting me to drink one pint too many the previous night, I needed a 5 minute sleep on top of a crag half way round.
Either that or the first event I did when I was 11, a CATI in Wippendell Woods. I shall try and remember this when the fees go up to pay for schools development!
Cheers for brightening up my afternoon. I kept the tuna sarnie down after a struggle.
Any more?

Front room, window open, hashing (not the running kind)
Seeing as Fatboy is a contributor to this thread the infamous (well, to Fatboy and I) Mammoth of 198* (can't remember lol) must be mentioned where on the last day a fun score type event took place with teams of 2 where the fast/slow one had 60/45mins respectively. The slow one started 15mins after the fast one and u both met at the finish for a piggy back ride over the line.
With about 5-10mins left I eyed up a just about possible extra loop to bag another 3 controls and ended up emerging at the finish with seconds to go to find a less that comfortable Fatboy (who had arrived minutes earlier) ready for mounting.
Crossing the line with 1 or 2 seconds left we came 3rd overall and although no big deal another trophy was added to the collection for Fatboy to later smash to pieces during brotherly love.

Loch Vaa at the last 6 days
Returning to the event after a 26 year gap, lovely day and forest, being baffled technically, being physically comfortable and waving at the steam trains
Day spoilt by long journey back to work again for the Wednesday. (Had to miss the 2nd half)
