I met Matt Bellamy at their first Leeds festival. He was so sweet and so surprised that anyone recognised them at all that he sat and talked for ages, despite the fact my sister had a big neon sticker stuck on her forehead. I can't imagine he's do so keen these days after reading his interviews.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

but girls aloud have artistic merit. their music is exciting (to kids). they have never pretended to be anything other than what they are.
music fascism is about spotting what has no artistic merit and slagging the jobby out of it. theres so many bands i hate that still get respect cos they have artistic merit and arent assholes. like girls aloud. like the libertines. and some more i cant think of. then there are the ones who are devoid of any redeeming features. like muse. matt bellamy is a fuckin prick. nope him and his snotty nosed piss rock. etc etc. and music is ace. furness is right. even ok music is ace. but vacuous jobbie with no feeling isnt. its orse than silence. and silence in my world is horrible. i saw 2 bands last night that put me on a downer cos i was having a very pleasing evening and then they came on and left me cold (sorry becks, that stuck in my head from yesterday). pish
where was i going with this? i dunno.
oh yeah, the other thing is that slagging off other peoples taste in music is not rude or anything else. its banter. and your just upset cos we're right.

Coldplay's album sells nearly half a million in about 10 seconds flat. So that's 500,000 more souls filling up Hell when it's time to die.
Fortunately and because of this, maybe hell will be full by the time I kick the bucket, so I can just hang around in limbo (or the East End of Glasgow).
Honestly, who the nope buys this jobbie? Mainstream Music hasn't changed in years, I can't tell the difference between all of these bands as Athlete merge into Coldplay merge into blah blah blah. Come on to nope. This sucks the biggest arse ever and it needs to move on. I happily refer you to http://www.thechurchofchrismartin.com for some laughs at his majesty's expense. Please, everyone, let's march to the streets of Edinburgh, 2 million of us, and burn our shitty albums. Coldplay=Musical McDonalds. Remember that......because you won't remember the 'Play in 10 years, unless Chris Martin does a Michael Jackson.......and that's just a matter of time.

The difficult third album. History is littered with artists that were noticed with their first album, made it massive with there second, and then release an ambivalent thrid album and slip into opbscurity. The third album is often their last (baring the "greatest hits" and "b-sides and more" compliations to complete the five album deal they had).
BTW, the review in the Times was headed "X + Y = Zzzzz". I think that's a miss then...

it gets better, recently stated:
making Coldplay go top of the US charts is akin to re-electing bush for the second term. It's probably all the same people who did both.

Are you personal friends with them Rob?! Or are you just assuming they are "truly nice guys"

Have you ever heard them talking with the crowd at a gig? Thats what makes them nice guys. Some bands turn up play songs and go, they don't seem to appreciate their fans. Snow Patrol and feeder do (they are the first that come to mind, sorry if many others do)J.Tullster wrote:Are you personal friends with them Rob?! Or are you just assuming they are "truly nice guys"

well if you r gonna tee it up for me...
if feeder appreciate their fans, why the funk r they still peddling that horrible brand of turd rock, getting more and more dull and middle of the road and DULL with every cynically marketed, child bothering release?

I think what he meant to say was that some bands "appreciate" their customers.
also, there's more coldplay baiting over at http://www.mogwai.co.uk. I'm seeing a coldplay: are <insert some unpleasant but highly amusing slogan here> t-shirt coming sometime in the future perhaps.

for those not bothering to click the link, i have to paste it so u can get to see it. barry burns is my hero
Chris Martin: A failure in the eyes of himself?
Ok, Stuart just told me the following: During the Coldplay Glastonbury set, in the middle of their new "hit" single, Chris Martin loudly blurted out the line, "Crazy Frog, where are you now?". Oh my jobby. This says a few things to me......
1) You (Chris) shouldn't speak at all because you're brutally unfunny, inbetween songs OR during them and
2) You really must have a hang up about that ringtone beating you to the number 1 spot. Who on EARTH is going to know what you're talking about when people watch back at your Glasto footage in 5 years? You noping moronic twat. I mean, let's face it, a phone-based 90's style techno remix of Axel F overdubbed with an annoying pretend frog is still better than your bands turgid, faux emotional jobbie. You should be in awe of the crazy frog. You're a dick and your band are mince. nope off and drop dead of a heart attack, james blunt. I think the big occasion got to you there Chris...."Where aaaare you nowwwwwww Crazy Frog"? Who would say this without being crippled by embarrassment for 100 years?
And to the people who no doubt cheered when he said it, has the shame sunk in yet?
I will be recording this "glasto moment" as soon as I find out when it's being repeated on the Telly. And furthermore, I'm going to make it into a ringtone and sell it. Amazing.

Also some Chris Martin baiting here

There's a fine line between surreal genius and meanignless babbling, and Chris Martin is not even anywhere near that fine line. Indeed, he would have to hire a taxi to even get him anywhere near it.
